The Lighthouse Project is a new pilot project that aims to train and connect innovative agripreneurs using a multilevel hybrid model of online and onsite activities. It is delivered in close collaboration with Starthub at Wageningen University & Research, which has already been running successfully the Lighthouse Project on an international level. The localized edition in Greece will be an ambitious umbrella programme, of blended education, networking and pilot projects, that brings together producers, SMEs, startups, corporates, Orange Grove alumni, academic and public bodies, in Greece and the Netherlands, in the wider area of food and agriculture, all having innovation and sustainability in the epicentre of their philosophy.
At its first stage, the new “Lighthouse Project” initiative offers a series of self-paced online courses, as well as live online workshops and meetups. The current courses available on Orange Grove’s platform focus on building a “Biobased Economy from an Entrepreneurial Perspective” and Sustainable Business Model Development for agripreneurs. Once the second stage rolls out, additional courses will be added and the programme will be complemented by face-to-face events, building of specialized networks and targeted pilot projects commencing from the area of Peloponnese.
The Lighthouse Project is the evolution of Orange Grove’s past Agri-Food Masterclass on Entrepreneurship programme. Since 2013, the Netherlands Embassy in Greece in collaboration with Orange Grove organized in different cities around Greece an intensive 3-day agripreneurship masterclass. In total, seven Agri-Food Masterclasses were organized throughout the years, in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion and Serres, with the participation of innovative producers and Ag-Tech startups from all over Greece.
